In a unexpected crossover event that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Transformations

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
